Big-Bodied Late-Breakout WR Bust

A wide-receiver bust archetype introduced by Jason Moore on the 2026-04-28 Fantasy Footballers crossover: oversized WRs who broke out late in their college careers (older than their peers), dominated jump-balls and contested catches against younger competition, and then flame out in the NFL when "the trick doesn't work anymore."

The archetype is high-confidence on the negative side — Jason's framing was "there is no middle ground" for the canonical case, Malachi Fields. Either George Pickens or gone.

Current Show Posture

As of 2026-04-28:

The show adopted this frame as a paired diagnostic with the production-profile floor check — a WR who fails BOTH (low college production AND fits the late-breakout archetype) is the highest-confidence bust call. Malachi Fields fails both.

Recurring Frames Within the Concept

  • "Catching sideline balls over little kids" — Jason's specific archetype-defining image.
  • "No middle ground" — the prediction is bimodal: superstar or zero.
  • Compounds with the production-profile rule — adds confidence when both fire.
