Nebraska Cornhuskers

Big Ten program under Matt Rhule (extended after 2025 season). Returning production ranked No. 3 nationally despite losing Dylan Raiola (injury) and Emmett Johnson (1,400 rushing yards). Anthony Colandrea is presumed QB. OC Dana Holgorsen. 2026 schedule: favorable early (Ohio, Bowling Green, North Dakota, at Michigan State, Maryland), brutal late (Indiana, at Oregon, Washington, at Illinois, at Rutgers, home vs. Ohio State, at Iowa). Current Vegas win total: 6.5.

Current Show Posture

As of 2026-05-26:

The show's Nebraska posture is no longer built on blind faith in Matt Rhule's old turnaround reputation. Nebraska has made a bowl and still has a plausible year-four path through Anthony Colandrea, Dana Holgorsen, returning production, and a veteran offensive line, but the "turnaround genius" label itself has been put to bed until the Huskers produce the proof.

The modern context matters. Rhule's Temple/Baylor template came from a different sport, while the current Big Ten is harder and the portal has made faster rebuilds possible. Nebraska can still turn around, but the show is no longer giving the program the benefit of the old label before the results arrive.
