One place to track every tag prefix used in the vault. Keep this list tight — add a new namespace only when the existing ones genuinely don't cover it.

Slug rules
- Lowercase
- Hyphens, not underscores or spaces
- Drop "the" (
secret-garbage-bracket not the-secret-garbage-bracket)
- Use short, stable team slugs:
penn-state, ole-miss, texas-am, byu, usc
- Conference slugs use the short form:
big-ten, big-12, sec, acc, pac-12, aac, mac, sun-belt, mwc, cusa, independent
What NOT to tag
- Don't tag every coach/player mentioned in passing — only ones the episode meaningfully discusses. Wikilinks handle passing mentions.
- Don't tag generic topics like
football or college-football — the entire vault is that.
- Don't create one-off topic tags that won't recur. If a tag is only ever used once, it's a bad tag.
Existing inconsistencies to normalize (as of 2026-04-17)
Big-Ten vs Big Ten — standardize to Big Ten in conference: frontmatter fields; big-ten in tags.
- Team notes have bare
penn-state tags — migrate to team/penn-state.
- Team notes have bare
team tag — keep.
- Concept-related tagging on episodes is inconsistent — add
segment/wiggum-scale on every Wiggum episode, etc.
