Miami Hurricanes
ACC program. 2025 CFP: beat Ole Miss in the semifinal on a final-seconds uncalled PI; beat Texas A&M 10-3 in 70mph winds; lost the national championship 27-21 to Indiana.
Current Show Posture
As of 2026-06-10:
The show's current Miami posture is that the Hurricanes are the ACC's clearest headliner before full preview season, and that separation is now strong enough to put the old Mario Cristobal self-sabotage narrative to bed. The concern is no longer whether Miami belongs in the league's first tier; it is whether Cristobal's program handles being the obvious favorite while replacing Carson Beck and major line talent.
The show still sees the ingredients for a national run. Darian Mensah has a plausible Heisman statistical path because Miami can pair him with Malachi Toney, Mark Fletcher, and a defense that should remain one of the country's best. The Nov. 7 Notre Dame game is now the key national proof point, even though it does not affect the ACC standings.
The North Carolina look-ahead before Notre Dame remains a trapportunity, but the show no longer treats "Miami might play a closer-than-expected game" as the same thing as "Miami is still doomed by Cristobal game-management errors."
Sark Tank pushes the confidence higher inside the ACC. Dan and Andy both refuse to buy the field against Miami because the Hurricanes' toughest game is nonconference, Clemson is obvious rather than sneaky, and the remaining ACC quarterback/schedule slate does not reveal a clean head-scratcher. The show is now treating Miami as the league's obvious favorite, not just its most interesting brand.
