Ole Miss Rebels
SEC program. 2025 season defined by Lane Kiffin's mid-cycle departure and the "tender hug" with Marty Smith. Interim staff under Pete Golding led team through the playoffs, beating Georgia before falling to Miami in a back-and-forth game. A Trinidad Chambliss pass was not called for PI on the final play, ending their national championship bid.
Seasons
Current Show Posture
As of 2026-08-17:
Ole Miss remains in the playoff-upside tier because Trinidad Chambliss may be the SEC's best quarterback and the 2025 run proved the program can survive disorder. Dan treats that quarterback advantage as too meaningful to bury beneath the cleanest contenders.
The caution is transition. Pete Golding is now responsible for a whole program that lost Lane Kiffin and several pieces, so the defense and supporting cast still need to prove their floor. The quarterback keeps the ceiling live while the new structure establishes itself.
