North Carolina won the Ireland rematch 15–10 and supplied the clearest football counter-case to the program's noisy offseason. The defense adjusted its run fits and became demonstrably better in the second half, while Billy Edwards Jr. and Jelani Thurman showed enough connection to create an ACC matchup worth tracking.

The win is encouraging without erasing the broader Belichick-era management questions. Edwards must stay healthy and repeat the passing/decision-making signs against more defenses, but the Tar Heels now have a concrete proof-of-concept beyond the off-field spectacle.
