Florida State Seminoles

ACC program. 2025 regression combined with legal/conference positioning landed FSU on the "biggest losers" list coming into 2026. Schedule strength is the highest in the country for 2026.

Current Show Posture

As of 2026-08-30:

Florida State is one of the show's bleakest 2026 vibes teams. The existing posture already had Mike Norvell in "not if but when" territory and the schedule as a national gauntlet; the June 18 message-board segment adds fan-base despair as evidence that the mood has curdled beyond ordinary offseason worry.

Chris Fallica's June 25 fade reinforces the football side of the read. Even when the ACC has variance below Miami, Florida State does not yet look like the clean bounce-back candidate because the quarterback and portal state still look unresolved.

The Week 0 win over New Mexico State allows for improvement but keeps the job-security pressure intact. Florida State won by 17 and found a coherent run-first path around Ashton Daniels, Ousmane Kromah, and the other backs, but it stayed in a competitive game deep into the third quarter.

The third-down defense is the immediate problem: New Mexico State converted 10 of 17, including 10-of-13 passing for 153 yards and two touchdowns on third downs. Ty is not pushing the panic button yet, but coverage/communication errors and the familiar slow-start texture leave the Mike Norvell question unresolved before the schedule gets much harder.
