The show's offseason narrative-triage game for deciding whether a familiar college-football belief should be put to bed or treated as built to last. "Bed" means the show thinks the narrative has been outgrown, overused, or disproved; "built" means the narrative remains live until the team, coach, or program produces proof against it.

Miami, Lane Kiffin, Ryan Day, Matt Rhule, Texas A&M, Oregon, Clemson, James Franklin, and Alabama/DeBoer all sit at different points on the spectrum between stale media habit and still-relevant proof burden.

The useful distinction is "liking the team or coach" versus "retiring the narrative." The show can like Texas A&M or Oregon and still call their ceiling narratives built to last because those narratives require field evidence to kill.
