Sam Leavitt's Foot Is the LSU Question

Cole Cubelic

What I'll be worried about is your quarterback ain't healthy right now. And the injury that he has had, worked on more than once, at times has been reoccurring. That would be one of my bigger question marks of this year — is not Sam Leavitt healthy now, can he stay healthy? Because that's an injury that we've seen pop up again for other guys.

Context

Cole's biggest single LSU concern is not the offensive line (where he's separately not sold). It's Leavitt's foot — already operated on more than once, the type of injury that recurs. The LSU rebuild's plausibility leans on Lane's system propping up whichever QB plays, but the system needs Leavitt healthy enough to run it for the upside case to land.

A clean dependency chain to track in October: Leavitt foot → LSU offensive ceiling → year-one Lane verdict.
