Context

Show framing on the ACC as of post-spring 2026. Miami is the consensus front-runner; SP+ likes Clemson; everything else is wide-variance. Bill's pithier version: "The ACC and Big 12 are very similar now in terms of, we have one known heavyweight. We got a whole bunch of satellites just orbiting around, and we don't know how that's going to work out."

The 17-team mathematical awkwardness is a related but separate Bill aside — odd numbers prevent clean conference-flex-week scheduling and infuriate Bill annually.
