UCLA has an eight-win path
Context
The show is genuinely encouraged by UCLA's early Bob Chesney signals: recruiting traction, portal juice, staff/roster familiarity from the JMU model, and public buy-in from the program. The schedule helps because Oregon, Michigan, and USC are the clearly better tier, but a long middle group looks playable.
The hinge is the offensive line. UCLA can talk itself into Cal, San Diego State, Purdue, Maryland, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Nevada, Minnesota, and Illinois as games where the best version of the Bruins can compete, but Nico Iamaleava cannot live under last year's sack profile. Eight wins requires the rebuild to become physical quickly, not just interesting.
