Clemson's adaptation problem is quality, not effort

Context

The show pushes back on the cartoon version of Dabo Swinney as a coach who has done nothing. Clemson has tried Garrett Riley, hired Tom Allen, added more portal defenders, changed around the administrative layer, and is clearly trying to fix physicality and offensive identity.

The live concern is that Clemson is adapting on Clemson's preferred terms rather than modern football's terms. The quarterback misses after Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence, the Chad Morris nostalgia hire, assistant loyalty, and a 7-6 season with NFL talent all keep the skepticism alive. The better question is not whether Dabo can adapt at all; it is whether he is any good at it now.
