Penn State-Clemson was the worst wrong pick

Dan Rubenstein

"I can't imagine how anybody any pick could be wronger."

Context

Cody asks for the most sure-thing prediction the show got grossly wrong. Dan nominates Ty's 2025 Penn State national-title pick, especially because it was not merely a normal miss. Penn State lost to Northwestern and UCLA, fired its coach midseason, and turned the pick into a full collapse instead of a near-miss.

Ty agrees that picking Penn State over Clemson was the most obvious recent answer. He distinguishes ordinary preseason wrongness from this case: lots of people pick title contenders who miss, but few title picks bottom out so hard that the coach is gone by midseason.
