Context
Nate's question asks whether Sorsby and Chaz Coleman prove that schools are failing to vet multimillion-dollar transfer investments. The show rejects the clean blame frame. Ty says programs probably are trying to staff up and do diligence, but college players are still young people whose circumstances can change quickly.
Dan adds the leverage and timing problem. NFL and NBA teams can slow-play a draft evaluation, pass on a risky player, and choose from a controlled board. Transfer buyers often have short windows, limited information, and urgent position needs. If a program is trying to buy its way into playoff range with one of only a few viable portal quarterbacks or a potential impact edge rusher, some risk is the price of doing business.
