Alabama is good but not bulletproof.

Context

Ty is more bullish than Dan because he expects Keelon Russell to become an immediate star and believes the ground game can be present in a way it was not a year earlier. Dan still sees a credible 10-2 path: star power at quarterback, skill positions, and in the secondary, plus a coach who can win close games.

The qualifiers are the point. Alabama needs the quarterback ceiling, run-game balance, and enough interior and linebacker stability to keep the offense from becoming Russell's entire burden. The playoff pick is real, but it is not the old automatic Alabama case.
