There Will Be a Snakes-in-the-SEC-Toilet Saturday
The Solid Verbal
This is, to me, a very long-winded way of saying we're going to see some snakes in the SEC toilet this season. There's going to be a week where we're like — oh, Kentucky figured it out. There's almost assuredly going to be a week where Kentucky just beat blank and Mississippi State just beat blank and Florida just beat blank and it completely threw off the track we thought we were on.
Context
Ty's predictive call growing out of the Cole + Dan setup. The convergence: - Cole's "sub-goals deteriorated" point → fan/media expectations are warped - Dan's continuity-loss point → the veteran-glue layer is missing across the conference - Ty's DC turnover point → schemes will look different mid-season
Add new starting QBs and new HCs to the mix and the result is at least one Saturday where the standings invert — Kentucky, Mississippi State, and Florida all knocking off favorites on the same weekend.
Ty's reference points: 2011, the week Oregon lost to USC, Oklahoma State lost to Iowa State.
