Texas: Final Four Or Soft Failure

Context

Show response to questions about Sark's hot seat (rejected — he's done a good job) and the implicit Texas expectation set. The show's read: Sark is not on the hot seat in any reasonable sense, but the program has built itself for top-four. Anything short of a College Football Playoff semifinal appearance, assuming reasonable health and luck, registers as a soft failure of self-set expectations.

The structural reasoning: the recruiting is at top-4 level, the spending is at top-4 level, the coaching staff investment (replacing Pete Kwiatkowski with a new DC; the Will Muschamp add) is at top-4 level. The team is openly trying to be a top-4 team. So missing top-4 is missing what they're trying to be.

The take pairs with Bill Connelly's structural skepticism and the show's broader Texas posture: the program is held to its own standard, not a generic SEC standard. Falling short of that internal bar is the actual measure that matters.
