The show thinks Kalen DeBoer is a very good coach, and the contract extension matters. It still does not put the post-Saban narrative to bed because Alabama now feels less automatic in a way the fan base is not built to experience calmly.
The structural point fits the Saban Benchmark Trap: the sport is harder, the playoff path is longer, NIL and portal discounts do not work the same way, and no successor can be Nick Saban. The extension protects DeBoer institutionally; it does not erase the comparison.
