Ryan Day moved past the third-base narrative
Context
The show concedes the obvious: Ryan Day inherited a loaded program from Urban Meyer. But inheritance is not maintenance, and maintenance at Ohio State is not automatic. Plenty of internal successors elsewhere have failed to preserve elite machinery once the original builder left.
Day's sustained playoff-level relevance, national-title proof, recruiting, staff adjustments, and annual top-tier expectations move the argument past pure stewardship. The Michigan caveat still matters, but it does not reduce the whole Ohio State era to coasting.
