NC State's Week 0 debacle is a wake-up call, not a verdict.
Context
NC State's offensive line and receivers could not create answers against Virginia, and C.J. Bailey spent the afternoon under constant pressure with only 84 passing yards. The loss was especially jarring because the Wolfpack entered the season as a plausible ACC surprise team built around Bailey and an upgraded line.
Both hosts leave room for a fast correction. NC State has three games before the schedule becomes more demanding, and a consistently coached program should be able to self-diagnose what failed. The margin of defeat is a problem; the first-game timing means the show is not ready to erase the preseason case.
