Week 0 is an appetizer, not a verdict.
Dan Rubenstein
“The story of these teams is not written, positive or negative, in the first week.”
Context
Dan's annual first-game warning is the episode's interpretive rule. New rosters, new coaches, long gaps between real games, and unusual opener settings can make a team look unusually good or bad before its structure has settled.
The show still extracts evidence from Week 0 — Virginia's physicality, Memphis's pass rush, and Florida State's third-down problems all matter. The point is to treat those details as chapters and return to them as the season supplies better context.
