The show likes Texas A&M's current setup more than the historical ceiling narrative might imply. Mike Elko made the playoff, Marcel Reed returns, the skill talent is better, and the defense has enough continuity to take the Aggies seriously in the SEC.

The ceiling narrative is still built to last, though. The show is uncomfortable leaning on "that is just how it has always been," but A&M's long pattern of eight- and nine-win gravity, plus the 2025 home playoff loss to Miami without a touchdown, means the program still has to produce a harder proof point before the old label goes away.
