The show's scheduling lens for games that become dangerous because of their position on the calendar, not merely because of opponent quality. A Trappertunity can come from a letdown after a marquee game, a look-ahead to a bigger game, a short week, awkward travel, body-clock timing, rivalry hangover, or a sandwich spot where the favorite's attention is structurally split.

The frame is active 2026 vocabulary after the calendar-utility episode and now carries into team-specific vibe checks. It lets the show talk about schedule danger without pretending every dangerous spot is a conventional upset pick. Clemson at Cal before Miami, Oklahoma-New Mexico between Michigan and Georgia, USC at Wisconsin before Ohio State, SMU at Stanford after Notre Dame, and several November sandwich spots are the origin cases.

The Big Ten vibe check applies the same lens at program scale: USC's schedule is not just hard but poorly timed; UCLA and Wisconsin have situational runway; Maryland's late schedule gives the post-September-win case life; Michigan's difficult sequence limits year-one settling time. The frame also produced related one-off vocabulary: Trappy Valley for a cluster of Halloween trap spots and Trapple Cup for that same Halloween grouping. Those are probably sub-phrases inside Trappertunity rather than separate concepts unless the show reuses them later.
