SEC program. Lane Kiffin new HC for 2026 (came over from Ole Miss). 2025 was hellish per Nate Tice — no talent around Garrett Nussmeier; he had to make every throw perfect. Glue back: Blake Baker (DC), Whit Weeks, Trey'Dez Green. Big 2026 question: Sam Leavitt's foot.

LSU remains a volatile upside team, but Ty has moved from theoretical interest to a firm top-three-in-the-SEC position. He trusts Lane Kiffin, Sam Leavitt, Blake Baker, and the No. 1 portal class to produce a fast year-one jump, even though the line, receiver room, and quarterback health all require new pieces to hit together.

The caution is timing. Clemson, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M arrive before the roster has much runway, and LSU's recent rushing production supplies no automatic proof that the rebuild worked. Ty nevertheless believes the ingredients and Kiffin's fit with the portal era are strong enough to recover from an uneven September and stay in the playoff chase.
