Texas Tech has moved from "Big 12 favorite if Sorsby plays" to "roster favorite that has to be re-priced around Will Hammond." The show still does not treat the original Sorsby portal swing as obvious buyer's remorse. It was a rational attempt to buy a scarce playoff-caliber quarterback in a thin market, but the legal, gambling, and league-governance fallout made the setup unsustainable.

The June 18 episode closes the college-football chapter by treating the Sorsby/Texas Tech parting as the least bad ending once the Big 12, outside schools, and Supplemental Draft deadline converged. It also sharpens the program-image read: Texas Tech's softer institutional language was easier to understand than Cody Campbell's more defiant public posture, which gave critics a visible booster-era target.

The June 25 update removes the immediate NFL exit ramp too. With no Supplemental Draft, Sorsby is waiting for 2027, while Texas Tech's football conversation has to return to Hammond's ACL recovery, dual-threat tools, first-team reps, and whether the rest of the roster remains strong enough to hold a Big 12 favorite case.

The playoff prediction episode keeps Texas Tech in the national conversation as a projected Big 12 champion. The path is narrow but legible: if the Red Raiders win the league, a clean resume can compare favorably with a 9-3 SEC team in the expanded field. That makes Will Hammond's health and the rest of the roster's ability to avoid ordinary losses the key follow-up questions.
